Dr. Bidhya Adhikari graduated in March 2008 with a Doctorate from International Faith Theological Seminary (IFTS). His Doctoral  research thesis was on ˇ°A Syntactic Contrastive Study Of Sherpa and English With Occasional Reference To Nepali and Hindi and a Brief  Sherpa-English Dictionary. Data Interpretation based on a linguistic fieldwork research Projectˇ±.

This Research Project was initiated and supervised by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Schmidt. This Linguistic Fieldwork Research Project was conducted by Dr. Adhikari with various native speakers as informants in the places like Namche, Solukhumbu, Okhaldhunga, Shorong, and Kathmandu in 2008. Dr. Adhikari and IFTS are currently working on an extension of this web edition to link sound features to the this Sherpa-Online Dictionary.
