International Faith Theological Seminary and University College (IFTS) is an Institution of Higher Education and forms part of a larger School Network headed by the Institute For Christian Works (ICW) with several campuses in various US Federal States. Its mission is to train qualifying students from all over the world in Theology, Ministry and some other Christian Ministry related areas of scholarly expertise enabling them to serve their native churches. This is mainly done by the Far Distance Study option with additional seminars and lectures series held at various national branch campuses of IFTS by keeping in line with the general academic standards of respectable and reputable universities and colleges worldwide.

IFTS has several physical national campus branches scattered all over the world, and among its students and graduates, University Lecturers, Military Chaplains, school teachers, pastors from local churches, and former street kids abandoned by their parents, people from the slums and also well-to-do people can be found. IFTS¡¯ s main objective simply is to reach those who are able to receive a higher education but who could not be reached by traditional means for a number of economical and social reasons, especially in the poorer parts of the world. IFTS was founded in 2004 and forms an integral part of a full-time Educational Ministry under the ecclesiastical roof of the Christian Missionary Anglican Communion (CMAC), headquartered in Slatington, Penns., USA.

Founder: Dr. Muhammad Schmidt

 

Born in 1950 and of German descent, Schmidt graduated in Linguistics, Chinese, English, African Studies, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Religious Studies and Theology from various state-run and private universities in Germany and abroad.

His degrees include M.A., M.R.S., Ph.D., Th.D.,and an Honorary Doctorate in Christian Education. For almost more than two decades, he servedas a University Lecturer and Professor in teaching and research worldwide, and this enabled him to gain rich teaching and research experience at respectable and reputable universities all over the globe including China, Korea, North and Sub-Saharan Africa, the USA, and Europe.

Schmidt has published widely in his academic areas of expertise and research including textbooks and other scholarly publications on Linguistics, African and Chinese Studies and cultures, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Religious Studies and Theology. His scholarly publications include over 20 books of several hundred pages. Returning from China in 2003, Schmidt founded International Faith Theological Seminary and University College (IFTS) with a vision to offer an educational alternative to reach those who may qualify for studies at an Institution of Higher Education but who are unable to enrol and attend universities and colleges in their respective country for a number of other reasons (e. g., poverty and similar).

Today, Schmidt is the legal Owner and President (Head) of IFTS and has the full support from his academic and administrative staff (mostly volunteers) to carry out the daily business of the School.
